Dissidia Composer Takeharu Ishimoto Has Resigned from Square Enix

Composer Takeharu Ishimoto, best known for his work on The World Ends with You and Dissidia Final Fantasy, announced on Twitter that he will be leaving Square Enix at the end of this year.

His statement reads (as translated by Siliconera):

"I've decided to resign from Square Enix, where I've worked for many years, by the end of the year. I'm resigning of my own free will. Starting next year, I plan to start freelance work. Next year on January 11 Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will also release, so please support that as well . Thank you very much!"

Ishimoto has worked as a composer on the following games:

  • Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance (2012) – with Yoko Shimomura and Tsuyoshi Sekito
