The Last of Us Part 2 Will Not be at The Game Awards

While speculation abounds for what games will actually make it to The Game Awards on Thursday night, we do know a few that won't be there. The latest game to get tossed on the "no-show" list is The Last of Us Part 2.

While developer Naughty Dog is hard at work on the PS4 exclusive title, they've explicitly stated that the game won't appear at the award show on Thursday, because the time isn't right to share more of the game. However, they are excited to celebrate the games industry with the rest of us during the show, which is pretty nice of them.

The game hasn't appeared at The Game Awards before, but The Last of Us was announced at the Spike Video Game Awards way back in 2011. While Naughty Dog has shown off some of the game's sequel at various other trade shows and events in the past, like Sony's PlayStation Experience, it looks like we might be waiting a while for another look at the game. After all, there is not PSX this year.

As for the Game Awards themselves, we'll be getting at least 10 announcements during the show. Confirmed games so far include Fortnite and Rage 2 while speculation indicates that we might also see something big from Death Stranding and Crystal Dynamics' mysterious The Avengers Project.
