Tonight is Vanillite Spotlight Hour in Pokémon GO. From 6–7 PM tonight, Tuesday, December 26th, this ice cream-themed Pokémon will appear throughout the hour with increased frequency in the wild. This will be active during the second day of the Winter Holiday Event Part 2, which has unlocked Vanillite's Shiny form. During Vanillite Spotlight Hour, this newly Shiny-capable Pokémon will also respond more frequently to Incense and even pop up in spawn points that are not normally active. You will need to get out there and walk in order to activate that Incense buff, though. This is the final Spotlight Hour of December 2023 in Pokémon GO, continuing the current Season entitled Timeless Travels. After we get into the details about tonight's Vanillite Spotlight Hour, we will break down the Spotlights and events coming to the game next month.
Vanillite can now be encountered in its Shiny form. The standard Vanillite, pictured above, is white and blue. Shiny Vanillite is quite noticeable, replacing the blue with purple.
The Spotlight Hour bonus for tonight can easily be capitalized on while hunting Shiny Vanillite. The bonus is double Stardust for catching. All you need to do to increase your Stardust even further is to drop two Star Pieces at the top of the hour.
