Earlier today, Valve released a beta of their new card game Artifact, but the game already came with some issues that players do not like. Usually, when a game is released into beta, you expect there to be problems because that's what a beta is for. To test things out and help the devs find issues. But no one expected the game to get some much vitriol online after the NDA window went down, as players rushed to social media to tell them the payment model was terrible. So bad, in fact, the current top comment on their Reddit page is nothing but complaints about how the system was set up. It forced the company to release a new update fixing the issue.
We've been reading a lot of feedback and have made changes in response. Our plan is also to launch the beta later today. (We're smoke testing the release candidate as we tweet.)https://t.co/nONrZfcwx2

While it was quick for Valve to respond so quickly to the complaints, one has to wonder if they had not had players under an NDA and took direct feedback if it could have been resolved faster before the public knew about it. You can pre-order Artifact now $20 while the beta continues on with a new patch.
