Blizzard Will Be Changing Overwatch Competitive Play So There Can Only Be One Of Each Hero On A Team
Blizzard have been busy with announcements since yesterday, with the reveal of the first post release character, Pharah's mum Ana.
However, that isn't the only thing coming, as the game is getting tweaked. Perhaps the biggest and most immediate one is that you will only be able to have one of each character on a team in competitive mode. This means teams won't be able to play two Torbjorns or Bastions on defence and the like. That is expected to hit in a patch very soon.
On top of that, it seems in Season 2 of Competitive Play, you can expect to be done away with ties. Talking to GameSpot, principal designer Scott Mercer did acknowledge:
We definitely want players to feel like if they had a tie, their time wasn't completely wasted
There are also buffs coming to Zenyatta and D.VA to make them more powerful.
There are lots of really cool changes coming to the game, and I can't wait to see how it changes the 'meta'. I'm still full speed ahead on Overwatch, and these changes will freshen things up.
