Dark And Light Partnered With NVIDIA For E3

Dark and Light

Snail is teaming up with NVIDIA to bring players an exclusive look at their fantasy sandbox survival game, Dark and LightDark and Light's breathtaking visuals pretty much make them a solid choice for using NVIDIA's Ansel technology. With NVIDIA Ansel, players can take staggering 360° screenshots, as well as studio-quality 2D screenshots, as they make their way through Dark and Light. The technology works with supported GeForce GTX graphics cards, and will be available to use in Dark and Light upon its Steam Early Access release. In the modern day of 4K gaming, any game that doesn't have killer graphics is just sort of a let down. And while Dark and Light probably wasn't on your E3 wishlist, it is nothing if not pretty as hell to look at.

At E3, players will be able to experience Dark and Light in a full gameplay demo with NVIDIA Ansel technology at NVIDIA's booth.

But in case your busy checking out one of the other games at E3 this year, or couldn't make it to the show, Snail and NVIDIA Ansel have put together a video showing off how the Ansel technology enhances the base Dark and Light experience. The new in-game video shows how Ansel brings a new dimension to capturing gameplay moments, giving players access to 360° free camera movement, a wide range of graphical filters, and the ability to take gigapixel "Super Resolution" screenshots. Any player with an Ansel-compatible GPU will be able to freely access these features to capture the most exciting moments of their journey through Dark and Light's Archos.

Not only does the game look good, but Dark and Light plays pretty solidly as well. I was only able to give the game a few minutes of my time at the show, but the demo is definitely fun to play, with the controls being relatively intuitive. It's an easy game to pick up, and at a show where you are inundated by games at every possible moment, being able to take something for a spin on the fly is a real treat. I didn't feel like I was getting through challenges too easily while also not struggling to get anything done. And that is what you look for in a gameplay demo. Even with a single player game, you still need some balance, even if that isn't the major draw.

So if you have some spare time over by the NVIDIA booth, you may want to check this one out. Or at least give the video below a pass. Dark and Light is also taking calls for beta testers, if you aren't at the show and still want to get your hands on the game early.
