Hitman Is Now Set To Be A 'Truly Episodic' Game
Hitman has been a weird one when it comes to release structure. The word had been the game would be split up, but how and where was a bit foggy. Even the term 'episodic' seemed to come and go from the game's marketing.
However, the game has fully embraced it now, announcing in a statement that the game has now gone 'fully episodic'. The statement reveals:
Starting with a Prologue Mission and a Paris location on March 11th, followed by the next location, set in Italy releasing in April and then Morocco releasing in May. From there HITMAN will deliver regular monthly content updates, including three additional locations; Thailand, the US and Japan until the season concludes in Japan later in 2016. With weekly live events and additional planned content in between the monthly updates.
This will no doubt be pretty controversial, but I'm willing to wait this out and see how it plays out. Major games aren't usually treated like this, so this is uncharted territory. Perhaps a test run for Final Fantasy 7 Remake?
