It Wouldn't Be Fair To Fans If The Witcher 4 Didn't Happen Says Developer
The Witcher 3 is so big, I'm sure that there are still plenty of people toiling away in its world. However, for super fans who have consumed everything the game has to offer, they might be slowly turning their eyes to the future of the franchise already.
And the franchise certainly does have a future. According to CD Projekt RED CEO Adam Kicinski speaking to Polish station TVN24 BiS (via Gamepressure), it wouldn't be fair to the fans if they didn't continue the franchise.
It's too early to talk about it, but it's not like we're forgetting about this brand. It wouldn't be fair towards the fans. We work within this universe for over a dozen years now and I don't think it's going to be the end of it.
I wouldn't expect it anytime soon though. CD Projekt have the small matter of Cyberpunk 2066 upcoming, and these games take a long time to make. My bet? We won't see The Witcher 4 until well past 2020, so get comfy.
