New Dead Island Game Spotted On Ratings Board

To say that Dead Island 2 has been a troubled production would be an understatement. The game was meant to come out nearly  a year ago, and recently, developer Yager were taken off the project. The game has been delayed to an unspecified date while it is whipped back into shape.

However, it seems that it won't even be the next Dead Island game. As spotted on the Australian Classifications Board, a game called Dead Island: Retro Rampage has been spotted, coming in from relatively unknown Empty Clip Games. Unsurprisingly the game is rated M, but we don't know anything else about it.

I don't know quite what to make of this. This could be a mobile port, but if it's another console spinoff like Riptide, I worry. Surely that would only dilute the brand more before a full sequel does eventually make its way out? We will have to see how this one turns out.
