Until Dawn is one of the real surprises of the year. I was fairly confident it would be a good product, and it was, but it didn't have a lot of buzz surrounding it, Luckily, its quality won out in the end and the game ended up doing very well.
So well that people are already crying for a sequel. In an interview with PlayStation Lifestyle, executive producer on the game Pete Samuels has addressed this, saying it is a possibility, as long as the Supermassive Games can find something to do with it.
We do talk internally about what Until Dawn 2 could be, as it clearly can't be a sequel in the traditional sense, with the same characters facing the same threat, not least of which because in different stories some or all of them are already dead! We've investigated other ways we could do Until Dawn 2 but it probably is a little early to be discussing that.
I think there are a lot of really cool places you could take a sequel. New setting in the same spirit? Pull an American Horror Story where you get the same actors to tell a new story? There are lots of places you could go. I'd love to see one come to fruition.
