What Could Be Happening At Pokémon Presents Tomorrow?
Tomorrow, the Pokémon Company will host a Pokémon Presents on their official YouTube channel at 6 AM Pacific. In their press release, they wrote "After the event concludes, visit Pokemon.com for a roundup of the legendary, brilliant, and shining news!" Speculation as to what this means has begun, so let's take a look at what might be discussed here.
Info:
- Previews of upcoming games: This is 100% confirmed. This Presents will focus primarily on Pokémon Legends: Arceus and the Sinnoh remakes, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Could there be more, though?
- Generation 9: There is an average of three years between each generation release. Could we potentially see the beginning of the road to a Generation 9 reveal? Generation 8's Sword & Shield games were announced in February 2019 and released in November 2019… which is a pretty tight window. However, Generation 8 was originally teased back in 2017, which is quite a bit earlier. If the Generation reveals keep the same pace, we should expect Generation 9 games in 2022… and it'd be a bit of a miss if Pokémon didn't announce this major upcoming release during their landmark 25th Anniversary year? My guess is that we get at most a teaser tomorrow and a full announcement later on this year.
- 25th Anniversary collaborations: This year has seen TPCI partner with musicians like Katy Perry, Post Malone, and Vince Staples for their 25th Anniversary content. We could see new announcements like this roll out. Or, we could also see new corporate partners like we got earlier this year with the McDonald's cards, cereal cards, and Build-A-Bear Espeon.
- Pokémon TCG: Fusion Strike official announcement: Details on November 2021's Pokémon TCG set have already come out online but TPCI has yet to make an official major announcement. Even if this isn't covered during the Presents, it would make sense to use tomorrow to confirm the set's products, pack art, and logo.
- Pokémon TCG 2021 content: If the TCG is going to be impacted by the release of Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, or Legends: Arceus as I speculated yesterday, we'll likely find out tomorrow.
- Pokémon Sleep information: Probably not, but hey. It's been a while!
