A Batgirl Movie? Yes, Please!

Superhero movies are swirling around all over the place, and a lot of characters are seeing a big spotlight. I never thought I'd actually enjoy the Antman movie, but I did. Now it might be time for a DC Comics hero to step into Hollywood. I'm talking about Batgirl. Director, Nicolas Winding Refn is really interested in the story of Barbara Gordon, and would love to make a movie.

Here's what he said:

"God, I would love to make one, it would probably be great fun…I just don't know when it's going to happen. I very much enjoy my freedom creatively, but I also would love to make one of those big Hollywood films that costs a lot of money and has a lot of people running around with cell phones and all that insanity…What ones are left? You know the one I want to do? I want to make Batgirl. Let's get Warner working on it."

I'd obviously be on board with something like this. Batgirl has been my favorite superhero for a long time. I think there's a lot of room for a movie like this to happen. My only hope is that it wouldn't be geared towards young viewers like the Batgirl of Burnside story ARC was. No hashtags in the script please…

Hey, it would be fantastic to have Gail Simone write a script. Don't you think?

As long as they don't have Alicia Silverstone reprise her role, I'm good. What actress would you like to see as Barbara Gordon?
