WWE has suddenly and surprisingly released Austin Aires, as just announced on their website.

"WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Austin Aries," read the very short statement. "WWE wishes Aries the best in all of his future endeavors."

Aires, who was also replaced on a house show this weekend by Cedric Alexander, released a short statement on Twitter right before the announcement went out:
