Our First Look At Josh Brolin As Cable In Deadpool 2
Ryan Reynolds is the best PR man in the industry. No, seriously. The guy built up the excitement for Deadpool, then did an amazing performance, then immediately started hyping Deadpool 2. His social media following may be better than the studios and he gets to release all the first look images, like we saw last week with Zazie Beetz as Domino. Well, the man is at it again this morning letting out the first look at Josh Brolin as Nathaniel Summers, AKA Cable.
Brolin is moving from one side of the Marvel Universe to the other as he goes from playing the Mad Titan, Thanos in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War to taking on one of the most anticipated characters in the X-Men franchise, Cable. The character was created by Louise Simonson and Rob Liefeld and then tied to Nathaniel Summers, son of Scott Summers and Jean Grey, who was created by Chris Claremont.
The time-traveling mutant was teased in the ending credits of Deadpool and was the source for months of speculation on who would play the role with various names from Kevin Nash to Pierce Brosnan being bandied about until the official Brolin announcement was made.
Deadpool 2 is being directed by David Leitch, one of the directors behind the John Wick franchise, and stars Reynolds, Brolin, Beetz, Morena Baccarin, TJ Miller, and Leslie Uggams. It's scheduled to open in theaters on June 1st, 2018.
