One of the things that the crossovers in the Arrowverse are able to do that I think would be easier to ignore is the current storylines in each series. The writers could step away from the on-going plots and make these all stand alone… they didn't and they're better episodes for it. Last year while they were doing the Flash / Arrow crossover that introduced Vandall Savage and the Hawks… they still dealt with Oliver Queen's son. This year there are four shows to consider and they still do it.

The episode starts with things between Cisco Ramon and Barry Allen still very much on the outs. And Iris West wants everyone to keep telling Wally West he's not ready to go out as a speedster. And then there is a ship that crashes in Central City and the Flash sees the Dominators. He finds out from Lila Michaels that this isn't the first time the Dominators were here… and it wasn't pretty that time either.

Barry decides to pull in his friends, going to Star City and grabbing Green Arrow and Spartan just as they are about to be shot by Vigilante. He takes them back to Felicity's apartment where John Diggle has to puke after moving so fast. Barry catches them up and Thea Queen joins in. Oliver gives Felicity an idea how to find the Legends. They all meet at an old S.T.A.R Labs hanger that looks a lot like the Hall of Justice. As the Legends arrive, Barry and Cisco go get Supergirl. They arrive, introductions are done and Barry is made the leader… all within the first 15 minutes of the episode.

As the story goes on, Martin Stein and Jefferson Jackson play the message from Future Barry for current Barry and Oliver. In it Future Barry tries to warn Rip that when he comes back it would be to a timeline that he has screwed up badly. Barry must face the fact that he didn't just screw up the present but also the future. Barry wants to tell everyone, but Oliver stops him. Surprisingly Oliver is not mad a Barry for abusing his powers. The continue getting ready by training and getting their butts kicked by Supergirl. Meanwhile Stein goes to see his wife and discovers that he now has a daughter and that's what is pushing inside of his head, the memories with her.

Meanwhile the President has been taken. Cisco finds the recording and forces Barry to tell everyone what he did. Everyone is pissed… Diggle, Sara Lance, etc. They hear about the President and Barry tells everyone else to go since they don't trust him any more. Oliver stands up for Barry, sayng if Barry doesn't go then he doesn't. Supergirl leads the team without Barry and Oliver… and they get mind conrtolled by the Dominators… leaving only Barry and Oliver to stop all of the mind controlled heroes.

Green Arrow and Flash do their best to fight off the others, Wally West jumps in to save Flash but then gets hurt by Supergirl. Cisco and Felicity discover the source of the mind control so Flash leads Supergirl there, trying to make her angry… leaving Green Arrow to get Wally to safety while figthing off Spartan, White Canary and Speedy. Just as GA is out of arrows and fighting hand-to-hand, Flash gets Supergirl to charge him, but he phases and she pass through, destroying the alien mind control device. Just as the team pulls back togehter… the aliens start teleporting certain members up to their ship, including Green Arrow.

This was a very fast paced, action packed episode but it still had the personal moments that the shows are known for and I have to say, that Stephen Amell's performance as he tries to console Grant Gustin, assuring him that most people would've done the same thing in his position… that is one of Amell's best moments so far and I hear tomorrow night's 100th episode is just as good.

We also moved the Martin Stein mental flashes story, the message from future Flash story and the Atom getting his suit back story ahead while paying service to the Vigilante story and the Savitar story… Ollie asks if Barry needs help with another speedster and Barry says "maybe".

This was a very good episode, better than I expected. West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin says that you can't have more actors in an episode than you have food on the table for them to eat… or something like that. Just about everyone had their moment in this episode, from H.R. agreeing to train Wally to Heat Wave explaining how he got his name. No one got shut out… except for Vixen and Steel who were left on the Waverider.

The Invasion continues tomorrow night with the 100th episode of Arrow.
