Frank Whaley Joins Marvel's Luke Cage
As we got the announcement for the premiere date of Marvel's Jessica Jones, the cast for the third Netflix original series Marvel's Luke Cage continues to grow. Deadline is reporting that veteran actor Frank Whaley has joined the cast as Detective Rafael "Rafe" Scarfe.
The series focuses on Luke Cage (Mike Colter) who is a wrongly accused man who, granted super strength by a sabotaged experiment, escapes prison to become a superhero for hire. Also in the cast are Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick and Theo Rossi along with Rosario Dawson who will be reprising her role from Daredevil. Cage will be first seen in Jessica Jones.
Scarfe was a recurring character in the Power Man / Iron Fist comic series. He was the ex-partner of Misty Knight (Missick) and became the guy on the force that Heroes for Hire could trust.
Whaley it a critically acclaimed actor who has appeared in films like Pulp Fiction, Field of Dreams and Broken Arrow to television series like The Dead Zone, Gotham and Ray Donovan.
