From Howard Stark To Jesse Custer

Preacher_picThe Tracking Board, which is known to have some good inside sources, has come up with this one. Reports are that the producers of the Preacher project for AMC – Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin – have their eyes on Dominic Cooper (Marvel's Agent Carter, Flemming) to play Jesse Custer.

The DC / Vertigo series Preacher created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon follows Custer, a conflicted reverend in a small Texas town, who becomes one with a supernatural entity born from both an angel and a demon. The merging gives Custer the power of persuasion and capable of making anyone do anything that he commands. Together with his ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vampire named Cassidy, the trio sets off to find God and find out why he abandoned Heaven.

AMC gave a pilot order for the project in December.
