Rainbow Six: Siege has a lot of of tactical first-person fans in a bit of a tizzy. From what we've been shown, the game is based upon a a pretty 'hardcore' one life system. This is paired with communication reliant gameplay meaning the title could well end up feeling quite unique.

For PC players, we should be able to find out if that is the case really soon. Ubisoft announced in a blog post theat the Alpha for the game will go live next week. It will start April 7th at 10am ET and end April 13th at the same time.

Ubisoft will be looking to test these key tenant during the period:

Test the core gameplay loops – Siege has reached the point in development where we need your creativity to test the game and validate the experience we've been building. It's still early enough that a lot can change.

Test our server infrastructure – Strong online connection and matchmaking is crucial for operating a game as a service. Testing our infrastructure early will help us optimize your experience at launch.

General feedback – We've been working on this game for a long time, and having fresh pairs of eyes reviewing the experience helps us figure out any problem areas we might have missed.

You can sign up for a chance to get into the alpha here. I know I'll be trying too. I am quite curious to see how this ends up playing. Perhaps I'll see you in there.
