After the entire fiasco with Star Wars: Battlefront II, Electronic Arts are reasonably gunshy about working out another system of microtransactions on another game before testing it on the general public. And according to a CFO at EA, Anthem will be the first game in line to not have them at launch.

EA DICE announced today that Battlefield 1 will be getting some updates soon that include new maps, a new mode called "Shock Operations", and monthly updates to the game for those who want to fight and not wait for whatever sequel they're working on.

Once bitten, twice shy. At least, that's how fans of Electronic Arts are feeling after all the fiascos behind Star Wars: Battlefront II. But in a new interview with The Verge, the company claims that they've learned their lesson and will apply it to Anthem.

In a move that even we have to question the rationality behind, Electronic Arts today announced that they would be bringing back purchasable crystal microtransactions back to Star Wars: Battlefront II.
