AEW Dynamite is Looking Like a Stacked Card Next Week

Following a viewership loss to NXT last week, AEW Dynamite is stepping up the content for next week's episode. Six matches have been announced so far, featuring a wide array of AEW talent. Wardlow, Orange Cassidy, Jimmy Havok, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, Brody Lee, Kip Sabian, Dustin Rhodes, and Kenny Omega have all been announced for in-ring action next week.

Wardlow will be in action on next week's AEW Dynamite.

Wardlow lost his debut match in a steel cage against Cody Rhodes. It looks like AEW will look to begin building Wardlow back up with a squash match on Dynamite this week. We can expect Wardlow to come out on top of whoever he faces. But will MJF be in attendance? That probably depends on whether the match was filmed in Georgia, with a notable lack of MJF, or at the Florida tapings that took place a few weeks ago.

Orange Cassidy will take on Jimmy Havoc on Dynamite next week.

Following up on their tussle outside the ring on the previous episode of Dynamite, Orange Cassidy will be in singles action against Jimmy Havoc. An Orange Cassidy singles match is a rare treat, so it will be interesting to see this happen on an ordinary Dynamite episode. It will also be the first time Havoc is in action on Dynamite in a while.

Darby Allin will face off against Sammy Guevara in the TNT Championship tournament on next week's Dynamite.

The TNT Championship tournament is the focus of AEW's angles for now. Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara are two AEW stars on the brink of a major push. Still, it seems likely Allin will go over here, as he has a more interesting storyline with his potential opponent in the next round, Cody Rhodes. After losing a tag team match with Rhodes as his partner a few weeks ago on Dynamite, Allin snapped and struck Rhodes. Could there be a heel turn in his future?

The Exalted One Brodie Lee will be in action on AEW Dynamite.

The artist, formerly known as Luke Harper, will be in action on Wednesday. We can probably expect another video segment featuring Lee skewering his former boss, Vince McMahon. I don't personally find disrespect for the most important man in the history of wrestling funny, but a lot of people like it. That being said, I do appreciate a lot of the Exalted One's values, satirical or not. He'll be winning this squash match, whoever it's against.

Dustin Rhodes will put his career on the line against Kip Sabian in the TNT title tournament on AEW Dynamite next week.
Dustin Rhodes will put his career on the line against Kip Sabian in the TNT title tournament on AEW Dynamite next week.

Earlier today, I wrote about Dustin Rhodes vowing to retire if he can't beat Sabian on AEW Dynamite on Wednesday. A retirement for Dustin on a random episode of Dynamite against Kip Sabian of all people seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened. More importantly, will Dustin's brother, Cody, interfere on his behalf out of a desire to keep his brother's career going? That might offer some interesting storyline possibilities.

Kenny Omega will be in action on AEW Dynamite next week.

The Cleaner will be in action for a squash match of his own on Wednesday. As one of AEW Dynamite's top talents, it's good to have Omega on the show, even if in a squash match. As one half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions, Omega's storyline is somewhat in limbo without his partner, Adam Page, at the recent round of tapings. He did lose in a surprise upset while tagging with Michael Nikazawa a couple of weeks ago, so maybe he's looking to get some heat back. AEW Dynamite airs on Wednesday at 8 PM Eastern on TNT.
