Full Review Of The Destiny 2 Disc For The PS4 From Bungie/Activision
Today I received in the post an advance review disc for the much-hyped Activision/Bungie game Destiny 2, still embargoed for now. Thankfully, in that time, I was able to fully review every aspect of the game that I was able to — which, admittedly, wasn't much, because I don't actually have a PS4.
However, I didn't want to shirk my duty and have endeavoured to give the disc the fullest review I was able to under the pressing circumstances, with the assistance of my youngest child.
1. As A Coaster/Beermat.
The Destiny 2 disc seemed to help my mug of tea fairly well. I do fear, however, that its lack of absorbency will see future spillages slip off the corners, and pool around on a wooden surface leaving a stain. Also, there's a hole in the middle, which might exacerbate the problem.
2. As A Frisbee
This was a failure from the off. No lift, no glide; it just fell out of the sky. Very poor.
3. As A Unicorn Parasol
Of this, I had a lot more hope. The kids have some very fun plush toys, but the sun always gets in their eyes, and this seemed an ideal solution, especially for the unicorn figures. Just thread the horn through the hole in the Destiny 2 disc and, as you can see, the mythical beast's eyes are nicely in the shade. Had we finally found a perfect use for this disc?
Sadly not. It was ever so top heavy and the unicorn was left with its bum in the air. Hardly a dignified position for such a majestic creature.
4. As A Fidget Spinner
They may not be the in-things anymore, but could this Destiny 2 disc recover some ability by posing as the must-have children's toy from the spring? Well, according to this tester, not a chance. It didn't spin, it was too large, and while slightly reflective, this didn't make up for the disc's other flaws.
Overall, the Destiny 2 disc was a letdown. And unless I actually get a PS4, sadly, I will not be able to take it any further.
