Power Rangers Fandom is in Full Force Thanks to Hasbro
Power Rangers took over Room 9 at SDCC Thursday for a lively and fun panel, where we got a sneak peak at some new Beast Morphers footage and toys, along with what is coming in the popular Power Rangers Lightning Collection line. We even got a surprise appearance form the Red Ranger himself, Austin St. John, who seemed really pumped to be there.
Power Rangers Beast Morphers continues to chug along, and the show is quite a bit of fun actually. St, john will be appearring soon, and will more of the classic Rangers throughout the franchises history. As far as toys go, there were not any new Beast Morphers figures shown, but they di show off the new Ultimate Beast-X Ultrazord, and it is a mighty impressive looking toy.
Lightning Collection dominated the rest of the panel, and with good reason. The figures are stellar, and the first wave was selling out everywhere during its initial shipments. Wave two is coming next month, and will feature two figures from Power Rangers Beast Morphers, the Red Ranger and the Gold Ranger. Lost Galaxy Magna Defender will also be in the wave, but the loudest cheers were for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Pink Ranger Kimberly figure. She will have new butterfly joints in her shoulders for great poseability with her bow, and looks fantastic. Also shown was a new Fighting Spirit Green Ranger and Putty two pack.
At the end of the panel, it was revealed that they are moving into higher end role play items as well, with a White Ranger helmet shown off. These are full size replicas, and will cost $$79.99, not bad for what looks to be a high quality helmet.
Another note: during the Q&A a lot of questions were raised about diversity and representation with Power Rangers moving forward, and the brand team answered each question with promptness and patience. I really believe that Hasbro is going to take great care of the Rangers moving forward, and it feels like we have only scratched the surface of where they can take it.
