McFarlane Toys Gives Update on Spawn Kickstarter Figure

Todd McFarlane has given backers a new update for the massively successful Spawn Kickstarter campaign. In one month, 23,761 backers raised $3,447,390 for a figure that's minimum goal was only $100,000. The campaign hit 1 million in only 24 hours another was still 29 days left on it. Three figures were shown Classic, Modern, and Artist Proof and there was a nice variety of bundles that collectors could get. McFarlane is back some up close and personal pictures to tease collectors of what is coming. He showed off the Artist Proof figure which is simply an unpainted version of the main figure. However each figure did come with special accessories and the Artist Proof get the screaming head, Necro sword, and unique power effect. From what we can see is they have started to incorporated the new metal chains into the design already. You will also notice the newly modified articulated cape as well as an attached screaming head on the Spawn body.

The figure still has plenty of work to be done but it is on the right track for the August release. I appreciate Todd McFarlane connecting with fans throughout this whole event and making figure adjustments as the Spawn campaign continued. I am sure more teasers will be on the horizon getting us even more hyped until the figures are in our hands. Check out the closed Spawn Kickstarter campaign here and you can check out the released teaser images and a message from Todd McFarlene below.

"Though this is still far from the finished item (the chains will be much longer around the waist, the figure will be painted in a mat finished gray color, packaging still being tweaked, the base will have "logos on it, etc.) this shows you most of the pieces and accessories that will be included.

"For those that ordered any level that includes the Artist Proof SPAWN, you will get most of what you see here and for those that ordered any level with the 3-PACK SPAWN TRILOGY, you will have even more variety and flexibility with your figure because use can swap some of the accessories from your other 2 figures (the Classic and Modern Spawn). Hope you enjoy the tease… but things are humming along as scheduled so far. Let me know if you have any questions. – Todd"
