DC Comics Big Move Meetings Begin Today
Everyone seems to be having meetings today. Marvel have a large creative summit that they are flying people in for.
People may be flying in for DC Comics too. There's a big all-hands meeting with Diane Nelson in person, scheduled for today, with individual meetings with human resources scheduled for later in the week.
Bleeding Cool has been told by DC insiders that despite what Dan DiDio may have suggested last week, not all current DC employees will be offered relocation to Burbank.
Previous Warner President Jeff Robinov was the one who was apparently against Nelson's desire to move the staff from Coast to Coast, due to the high costs of relocation as well as the high severance payments necessary for those who declined. It was his departure this summer, more than anything else, that sounded the death knell for the New York offices.
Especially since a floor of the offices at the Pointe – the building where DC Entertainment is based in Burbank – has been held vacant for more than a year to welcome the new arrivals.
I have been told to expect a number of very senior figures at the company to not make the move, leave DC or retire – after a transition period.
As always, rumours that Dan DiDio won't be making the trip. But he's survived such rumour mongering before…
