Gerard Way Talks Young Animal And How The Band Thing Just Happened

Most folks know Gerard Way as the front man for My Chemical Romance, but you ask him he has always been a comic creator and the whole music thing happened by accident. In the interview below he talked with Tiffany Smith of DC's All-Access about his interning at DC and how he ended up with the new imprint Young Animal and what to expect from the four titles: Cave Carson Has A Cybernetic Eye, Doom Patrol, Shade the Changing Girl, and Mother Panic. The first three titles were based on existing DC characters while Mother Panic is a creation of Way's and Tommy Lee Edwards. From listening to the interview, Doom Patrol may be the flagship title for the imprint but the creator seemed quite enamored with Cave Carson.
