Marvel's Top Ten Avengers

Marvel has released a list of the top ten Avengers according to fans on Marvel.com. The list is rather interesting in both inclusion and exclusion. So many heroes have been part of the team over the years, so to narrow it down to just 10 would be difficult. And the results are somewhat interesting.

Take a look at the list and then below I'll tell you why I think that.

Now Captain America being number one probably surprised no one. And it was a safe bet that Iron Man and Thor would be on the list. But The Vision and Hawkeye being higher up than either of those two founding members seems a little strange. It's also nice to see the inclusion of later additions like Captain Marvel and Luke Cage, but do they belong higher than Black Panther?

Not making the list, two of the founding members Hulk and Ant-Man / Giant-Man. Now I know that Hulk was only on board for one issue, but with the films you'd think the Jolly Green Giant would have gotten more votes. Hank Pym on the other hand was most likely kept off because of his abuse and mental issues.

Also of note (or coincidence) is that the rights of everyone on the list are held by Marvel. Spider-Man, Wolverine, Beast, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver or anyone else whose film rights are split don't make the cut. That again includes the Hulk whose rights are partially owned by Universal.

Do you agree with this list?
