Neil Gaiman And Alice Cooper's The Last Temptation To Be Allocated
Dynamite is doing a 20th anniversary remastered edition of The Last Temptation, a book by Neil Gaiman, Alice Cooper and Michael Zulli. Two versions were offered, both hardcover editions… but there was one that would included the signatures of Gaiman, Cooper and Zulli for $75.00. From what we are hearing, only 400 signed copies were made and preorders for the book was much higher… meaning that the book will be allocated and its likely stores will be shorted copies.
In a case like this, it is common for a publisher to put together tip-in sheets. Already cut loose pages that are then passed around to the people involve to sign all at once. And then those pages are sewn into the book when it's assembled. So instead of having to get all your creators together at once or shipping 400 books across the country, you just send 400 pieces of paper. But this makes you set the print quantity for a book very early and can result in a situation like this.
Dynamite has also sent over some preview pages for the book and there should be plenty of non-signed copies available.
