Video Protests Against Region-Fixing Of New Alan Partridge
It's been years without any new Alan Patridge material in the UK, and fans of Steve Coogan's Norwich-based sports reporter-turned-chatshow host have been kept bobbing along by repeats on Dave and the promises of a movie.
And then out of the blue, Australian lager Fosters commissions a series of short Alan Partridge mini-episodes revolving around his mid-morning work for obscure radio station North Norfiolk Digital. And the world rejoiced. See the second episode below – and everything Ricky Gervais based his entire career around..
And then the world-minus-the-UK wailed as they realised that, for some unknown reason, Fosters had chosen to lock the YouTube videos in question to UK watchers – so as not to infect the marketing of Fosters in any other locale.
But some would not be quietened. A nd have released their own protest songs. Here are two below – available in any locale.
Will Fosters submit? Will they edit the videos and unclick the box that locks it to a specific region? Or will they be subject to even more musical attacks?
Oh look, someone seems to have just downloaded and uploaded the second episode to YouTube anyway. Will it survive?
