Bloodborne: The Board Game Drops a Gameplay Trailer
Publisher CMON has dropped a gameplay trailer for Bloodborne: The Board Game to get fans hyped for next week's Kickstarter campaign. The trailer utilizes footage from FromSoftware's video game as well as shots of the board game to assure fans that CMON is sticking close to the source material using a side-by-side compairson.
Bloodborne: The Board Game is a table-top dungeon crawler with miniature models that uses deck building mechanics to facilitate the character progression from the video game. Each character starts with the same generic deck and slowly gains new cards that will change how they can handle each enemy encounter. These additional cards can give the player new weapons or upgraded skills, all based on weapons and skills from the game.
The deck-building should also mitigate the game's reliance upon luck to make things a bit more skill-based than your usual dice-based dungeon crawler.
Michael Shinall and Eric M. Lang are the developers behing CMON's Bloodborne: The Board Game. Shinall's previous work includes Rum & Bones and Xenoshyft: Onslaught while Lang's previous credits include Rising Sun and Blood Rage.
Bloodborne: The Board Game's Kickstarter begins on April 23, 2019.
