"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" Will Bring Back Killstreaks
With the exception of Call of Duty: WWII, most modern entries in the FPS franchise have done away with killstreak counters in multiplayer. Which is a pretty big frustration for players who like to keep track of their PvP records. While you can use scorestreaks to keep track, it's much more difficult to do so during a live match than the old killstreak counters.
Luckily, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be bringing killstreaks back. Just a few days ahead of the official multiplayer reveal, Infinity Ward confirmed the return of killstreaks on the official Call of Duty twitter.
The Killstreak announcement didn't just inform fans that the counters will return to their multiplayer matches, but also that there will be a few specific types of killstreaks and the reveal of some associated gear. The Juggernaut streak means that Modern Warfare 3's Juggernaut armor is returning and will have a special associated achievement. Meanwhile the White Phosphorous streak will require players to kill a number of other players with airstrikes of burning white smoke.
The full Multiplayer reveal for Modern Warfare will take place on Thursday, August 1, 2019. Activision and Infinity Ward released a teaser for the Multiplayer reveal just this weekend.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to release on October 25, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
