Destiny 2 Updates Will Be Coming In Seasons
During a panel at TwitchCon, Bungie explained to the rabid hoards of Destiny 2 fans how seasons will affect the way the game is updated going forward, and what that means for players.
Bungie even went so far as to promise that players can expect at least one big event per season, with four season planned per year.
While there is no big event for the first season of Destiny 2, Bungie did tease some future events including the return of The Dawning.
Players can expext to see a winter theme coming, matching the upcoming weather season in the northern hemisphere (sorry southern hemisphere, Bungie is based in Bellvue, WA). The Farm will be decked out in a winter theme and players will be able to do things like throw snowballs and play hockey (to replace the usual soccer games). The snowballs will extend beyond just the social spaces, so you'll be able to pelt enemies with snowballs, as well. Which, I admit, I'm looking forward to.
One Iron Banner event remains for Season 1, and new changes will be coming with the next season.
Factions and clans are also due for some changes with the new season. Three new weapons are coming to factions, and clans will get a special staff to show they've completed season 1.
Seasons will even have emotes, ships, and other perks that can no longer be earned once a season ends.
