En Masse Entertainment Details the Tera PC Server Merge
Now that the console servers for Tera have been merged, En Masse Entertainment is going to be merging several of the North American PC servers as well. The Great Server Merge will happen on Tuesday, September 18th, 2018 only for NA servers. The merge is intended to unify the PC community to three servers in order to provide players with more social opportunities, faster dungeon and PvP queues, and a busier in-game economy.
The Mount Tyrannas and Fey Forest servers will merge into one massive PvP server, while Ascension Valley and Tempest Reach will create a new PvE server. Celestial Hills will remain as a PvE RP server, so it will be largely unaffected by the merge.
No names have been finalized for the new servers, as En Masse is hoping for community feedback to choose the final sever names. Details on how to vote for your preferred server names will be released at a later date.
To make sure player characters end up where their owners want them, free character transfers will be available from September 4th–7th. The free transfer will only allow you to jump server types, not between severs of the same type. So you can't move from Ascension Valley to Tempest Reach, but you can jump from Fey Forest to Celestial Hills if you choose.
As part of the merge, players won't have to do anything ahead of the server merge – all character, guild, friends lists and more will be copied to the new server automatically. There will be a cap on the number of total characters players can have on the newly created sever, however En Masse will be providing additional character slot unlock coupons to help make room for players with characters on multiple servers. These character slots will be given out to all accounts that log in the week prior to the merges.
