Microids & Moulinsart Partner Up For A Tintin Video Game
Video game publisher Microids and Moulinsart have come together to announce a Tintin video game is in the works. There have been a couple of different video games based on the iconic franchise, the most recent being the 2011 title The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, based on the 2011 Steven Speilberg film. But none of them have seen great commercial success. This time around the two companies will be working to bring together a series of mysteries in an action-adventure game that will transport the player into many incredible situations and suspense. You'll get to play as Tintin with faithful dog Snowy at your side, as well as other iconic characters joining you including Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, and detectives Thomson & Thompson. No word yet on how much development is currently underway or even a vague release year at this point, but we do have a couple of quotes for you from the announcement.
"We are extremely happy to work on this co-production! We have been willing to make this happen for quite some time," said Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids. "This announcement is the result of a creative process allowing us to define precisely how this project will take shape and the two companies will interact. This really is a dream come true for us. The adventures of Tintin transported millions of readers worldwide and this opportunity will allow us to put our talents at the service of one of the biggest creators of the 20th century and its inked hero: Our team members are fans of the famous reporter and will do their best to pay this franchise a vibrant homage. We can't wait to kick-off this project!"
"The upcoming PC and consoles video game inserts itself pretty well in the legacy of the most famous reporter's adventures. Our ambition is to provide a mainstream audience with a fun and friendly game for everyone to enjoy. Microids is for us the ideal partner to bring to life this new Tintin's adventure," said Moulinsart's director, Nick Rodwell.
