More Broly & Cheelai Cards In Dragon Ball Super 2021 Anniversary Set

The Dragon Ball Super Card Game has begun to reveal cards from its Special Anniversary Box 2021. The box will include 96 cards in total with 35 guaranteed cards from the Special Anniversary Set with each card including a double, two five-card Special Anniversary Packs featuring foil versions of cards from the set, for Vault Power-Up Packs with four cards each, one of four Anniversary 2021 sleeves, and one of four Storage Box Anniversary 2021 designs. As the Dragon Ball Super Card Game reveals the cards from this special set, Bleeding Cool will offer a look into the cards from a collector's perspective. In our next selection here, we get some more cards inspired by the latest addition to the anime's canon, the Dragon Ball Super: Broly film.

When Broly turns Super Saiyan in the reboot movie, urged by Frieza who kills his father and gives an Oscar-worthy performance of intense camp blaming it on a "stray energy blast," the Legendary Super Saiyan finally begins looking like the hulking original iteration that was popular back in the original non-canon movies. This card is stunning, with a dramatic energy blast effect that is going to look great when pulled as a foil. The Cheelai card here is absolutely stunning, though, and seems specifically designed to be a chase card for those hoping to pull the foil version. The textured background of swirling pinks as well as the gold-lined stars would look absolutely amazing with that slightly textured golden foil. I personally can't wait to begin cracking boxes of this to open right here on Bleeding Cool. There are a ton of cards in this set, all of which I currently believe are guaranteed pulls as non-foil, but this set is truly going to be a foil chase.

The Dragon Ball Super Card Game 2021 Anniversary Box comes out in September 2021.
