A New Switch Update Will Allow For User And Save Data Transfers

The latest Nintendo Switch system update allows players to transfer user and save data, as well as capture video clips of certain games. So, we can finally use the Switch the same way we use an Xbox One or PS4. Both features were routinely requested

Nintendo's 4.0.0 update for the system finally gives Switch users the ability to transfer both their saved game and user account data from one Switch to another. In order to initiate the transfer, both systems must be updated to 4.0.0. and connected to the internet. The system a user is transferring to cannot have more than seven users.

An option for the system transfer now appears in the system settings, so it should be relatively easy to find.

The other notable feature included in the update is the ability to capture video by holding the capture button during gameplay. This is currently limited to 30 seconds of footage which can then be uploaded to Facebook and Twitter. But it's better than nothing, which, at this point we'll take.

Video capture is something we knew was coming to the Switch since before launch but is still not yet available for all games. Currently, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, and Splatoon 2 all support the new feature.

The update also adds 12 new user icons, including some from Breath of the Wild and Odyssey, the ability to pre-purchase and pre-load certain games from the eShop, and an update to the news channel.
