NieR: Automata Is The Latest Crossover Event For Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

Square Enix announced further details for the highly anticipated NieR: Automata collaboration with Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, which is set to begin this Friday, August 11. This not the first time we've had a non-Final Fantasy crossover event in FFBE, but it should prove to be more interesting than some others.

FFBE is a decently popular F2P mobile title which recently reached 25 million total downloads worldwide. Which is a little absurd, but mobile games are more popular than most other forms of digital entertainment so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

From Friday through to August 24, characters from NieR: Automata, including 2B, 9S, 21O, and Adam are getting the pixel art treatment to join the ever-growing cast of units in Brave Exvius. Additionally, A2 and Eve will be included as two new global exclusive characters. During this limited time event, players will face off against waves of machines and familiar NieR: Automata bosses as they collect medals to exchange for special in-game rewards and materials use to craft weapons and armor, including the iconic Emil's Head.

Sadly, Square did not tell us if the NieR bosses will include the heads of both Platinum Games and Square Enix, which is a damn shame.

Additionally, from August 9 through 18, players may purchase a special summer package once per day for 400 Lapis. This unique bundle contains numerous in-game items for nearly 50% off, including a Rare Summon Ticket, Magic Key, NRG (stamina) and more.

Square Enix also announced the start of registration for the Final Fantasy Brave Exvius Fan Festa event in New York City, which will take place during New York Comic Con on October 6 at Capitale. Producer Kei Hirono and Global Version Producer Hiroki Fujimoto invite players to this free fan event to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the title and to thank fans for their continued support.
