Fans will soon have more to experience in the world of NieR: Automata after Square Enix's latest announcement that a set of downloadable content will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Steam on May 2nd, 2017.

The DLC is, in typical NieR fashion, titled "3C3C1D119440927", and it will include three exciting new colosseums to challenge, alongside additional sub-quests. The rewards for completing those sub quests include:

  • Costumes from the previous Japanese release, NieR: Replicant, for androids 2B, 9S and A2
  • Records that add special music tracks to the players' jukebox
  • New equipment and cosmetic accessories such as hairspray that allows you to change the color of 2B and A2's hair
  • Masks with unique "on equip" effects
  • Special bullets that change the appearance of enemy bullets

Alongside the announcement of the new DLC release date, Square Enix and PlatinumGames put out a new trailer for the DLC showing off some of the colosseum gameplay. A previous trailer for the DLC showed you fighting the CEO of Square Enix, and is absolutely entertaining as hell to watch. This newest trailer is a bit less exciting, but still something to take a glance at. The gameplay video also features some alternate outfits for 2B and company. Got to say, I'm not really a fan of that blue babydoll outfit. Battle heels are one thing, hypothermia is an entirely different one.

The description of the new trailer reads,"Invaders from another world attack without warning – unleashing the machine lifeforms. To break the deadlock, a new breed of android infantry is sent into the fray: the YoRHa squad. NieR: Automata™ is a fresh take on the action role-playing game (RPG) genre that gracefully blends mesmerizing action with a captivating story."

The latest trailer is below. DLC 3C3C1D119440927 will be available May 2nd.
