Rainbow Six: Siege Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro Updates Planned

Rainbow Six: Siege's developers have confirmed that there are indeed plans for PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X upgrades in the future, though it is not clear when.

You have to be careful when it comes to upgrading competitive multiplayer games on 1.5 consoles. While performance and quality are all over the place on PC games, that comes with the territory. On console, it's accepted that generally everyone is running on exactly the same system and version of the game. Messing with that to improve it for players who have a slightly more powerful console certainly comes with some consideration and delicateness in order to keep everything fair.

That's obviously something Ubisoft is thinking about with Rainbow Six: Siege as it seems an update is coming at some point, we just have no idea when. Responding to a question on Twitter, the official account of the game said that the updates are indeed in the works, but there is no date connected to this.

This is definitely on our road map! We do not have an ETA for it though.

It's good to know the update is on the way, and again, it has to be considered. Upping the frames per second is a distinct advantage for one player over another, so these conversations will have top be had. Of course, it would be silly to not use the power of the newer consoles as well, so here's hoping it isn't too long until we get some kind of details and release date.
