Respawn has Already Banned Thousands of Apex Legends Cheaters
Apex Legends is the game to be playing right now, and its player count numbers agree. However, with more players comes more cheaters. Respawn Entertainment has already banned over 16,000 cheaters from the Apex Legends servers.
Respawn addressed several bug fixes and problems players had been having with Apex in the game's dedicated subreddit. That update included information on the number of cheaters who had been reported and banned from the game, as well as information on how to report other cheaters:
As of today over 16,000 cheaters have been identified and banned from the game. Cheaters suck. If you run into one, please try and capture the evidence and let us know here: https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/apexlegends/contact/report/
Even if you don't get proof, get their ID and flag it and we can investigate the account. We have heard your feedback about a report feature in the game. I'll just say that's a very good idea :)
The update also addressed the various crash issues players had been having across all platforms, so if you've been affected by those, know that they're being worked on. Respawn revealed that "improving stability, performance, and quality of life is a big priority for us and we have a lot of work to do. We pushed our first patch out earlier this week and we've got many more coming [including one next week!]." So there's good news on the horizon.
Moving forward, Respawn has commented that they'll be posting updates like that one weekly, which will do a great deal for transparency. Other plans for the future include a developer livestream and a dedicated subreddit for troubleshooting tips to help players who run across bugs in-game.
