Toy Fair '16: Sphero Has A Force Band To Go With Your BB-8

So we all know how cool the Sphero BB-8 is. It's been all over the internet for months. However, what was once app-controlled is now controlled by THE FORCE! Well, not exactly, but pretty much. Sphero is about to release a Force Band, which will attach to your wrist and utilize gesture-based controls to operate the BB-8 product.

Here's what the Force Band will do…

-Controls the BB-8™ app-enabled Droid™ toy from Sphero through gestures like Force push, pull and drive.

-Will enable the BB-8™ Droid™ product to follow its user as a result of arm motions and directional moves.

-Compatible only with the BB-8™ app-enabled Droid™ toy.

I saw it in action while at Toy Fair, and it really caught me off guard at first. I of course noticed BB-8 and then questioned the man waving his hand in the air with a smart watch looking thing on his wrist. I think this is taking things to a whole new exciting level, and I can't wait to get my hands on one. Additionally, Sphero revealed a special edition battle-worn BB-8 App-Enabled Droid toy. This BB-8 looks a bit more like he actually appears in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The Force band and special edition BB-8 toy will be available in Fall 2016.
