Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen is Coming Sometime in 2020

During a press event with NIS America today, we got word that Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen will be coming out in 2020. There's no window set for it yet, only that we'll see it in Europe and North America on the PS4 and a digital-only version on the Vita. Also, it appears there will be no English dub, it will be Japanese voice acting with subtitles. If you're unfamiliar with this version of the game, Prelude to the Fallen is a retelling of the original storyline from the first 2002 game. Like other NIS America releases announced today, this will have two editions. An Origins Edition will include a soundtrack and a softcover art book. Meanwhile, the Limited Edition will have a soundtrack, a hardcover art book, a metal keychain, and a poster. Enjoy the description and trailer below!

For the first time ever, the origins of the Utawarerumono saga are coming overseas! Prelude to the Fallen follows the story of a man with no memories who awakens in a strange world, and is taken in by a tribe of kindhearted villagers. He is raised as one of their own, eventually receiving the name "Hakuoro." When neighboring nations begin to encroach on his village, Hakuoro rises up against the tyrannical invaders, setting off on an unforgettable journey that lives on in the songs of legend.
