343 Say They Know What Is Happening In Halo Over The Next 10 Years

343 seems to know what they want to do with the Halo franchise. I really can't wait to see what they do with the series going forward too, as it is quite well documented that I adore their work on Halo 4.

Halo 5: Guardians is on the horizon too, and it seems there are serious plans in place for the future. In a magazine called The Ultimate Guide To The Halo Universe (via GamesRadar+) franchise director Frank O'Connor explained that not only do the team know what is is happening in the next game, they know what is happening to Master Chief over the next ten years.

We do kind of know what's going to happen in the next game pretty well at this point. We're doing serious real planning and even some writing on the next game already, and that's a luxury – we've never been in that position before. So we both know at a very high level what's going to happen in, say, ten years from now. But at that very granular level knowing what's going to happen in the next game and that's just been a great feeling for me.

This sounds like a good idea, as you can always plan for what is next with the ending of each instalment. At the same time though, I hope they keep things fluid and open to change. Forcing the story into a mould already in place could be a littler jarring to the narrative building. 343 have done good work though, and all that is left to do is to see if they can stick the sophomore attempt with 5.
