Konami Think PES Will 'Clearly Lead' FIFA Again Soon

PES_01_thumb-1434457418636_1280wPES 2016 has come out to rave reviews recently, meaning that Konami have hit it out the park twice in recent weeks. Odd considering the the turmoil the publisher seems to be in at the moment.

It is thought that this year's PES game could make significant ground up on the chart topping forerunner FIFA due to this critical success. Speaking to MCV, product manager Adam Bhatti has said while he understands it may not happen in one go, he thinks PES will definitely become the most popular football gaming experience soon.

We're definitely catching up with FIFA and we have to be respectful about that. We have to keep closing that gap. In a couple of years we'll clearly lead again. But we have to convince a lot of people.

There are things we can't control like licences, but in terms of presentation, visuals, we want to be industry leading.

I really am intrigued to see the work that has been done on PES. It is actually fun to be excited about a football game again. Having the franchise come up to challenged the fully licensed FIFA should at least be good news. Last time PES lead the way in the charts, FIFA really upped its game. I'd love to see it again.
