Ubisoft Make Considerably More Sales Off Of The PlayStation 4 Than The Xbox One
Ubisoft are one of the biggest publishers out there. Their games sell millions and they are pretty much only surpassed by EA and Activision in size and even that is debatable. It is probably not unfair to say their sales percentages are probably, at least, a hinting comparison of the wider market.
That's why these stats make for interesting reading. As VG247 point out, Ubisoft's recent financial report says that the PlayStation 4 makes up 27% of units the company sells. Following close behind is PC at 23%. The Xbox One though? It shares 11% sales with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
It is a bit sad to see the Xbox One flagging behind, only selling as many as last generation consoles and the PlayStation 4 making much more than twice their sales.
Having said that, the Xbox One has been on a serious upswing of late. At this point, I'd guess that the Xbox One is about 10-15 million units behind the PlayStation 4 based on what we know from previous declarations from both companies. Recently though, we've seen the Xbox One taking the lead a lot more on a month to month basis. I suspect we will see these percentages even out even as quick as a year from now.
