What's Up With Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight This Week?
Double Fine has had a busy week what with Amnesia Fortnight kicking off. Here's the rundown of Double Fine's announcements, including which games were selected to be created into prototypes and what's next on their slate.
Last week, Double Fine kicked off another of their Amnesia Fortnight events with a Humble Bundle deal, and revealing the proposed 25 video game projects and opening voting for the games community to choose their favorites.
On Friday, four videogames were chosen to be created into prototypes (two by the community, one by the studio, and one by founder, Tim Schafer). They then released a video of Schafer revealing the chosen projects, which you can check out below.
For those of you unable to check out the video, the descriptions of those four games are below.
- Darwin's dinner – Darwin's Dinner is a survival game where your actions shape the evolution of the creatures you eat.
- I Have No Idea What I'm Doing – A fast-paced VR party game where you need to rely on your friends outside VR to figure out who you are, where you are, and what the heck you're supposed to be doing.
- Kiln – Kiln is a multiplayer, team-based brawler with a focus on creating unique player sculpted characters featuring crazy physics-based animation and destruction.
- The Gods Must be Hungry – A 3D platformer where warrior chefs make giant meals to stop ravenous gods from eating the human race!
Not bad for an Amnesia Fortnight slate, huh?
