Beetlejuice Will Return in His Classic Striped Suit for the Sequel

The costume designer for the upcoming Beetlejuice sequel revealed that a classic look will be making its return for the film.

When it comes to the upcoming return of Beetlejuice in Beetlejuice 2, fans are seriously all about nostalgia. In fact, nostalgia is a large component of its return in the first place, so of course, we should expect a few classic references to be sprinkled throughout the hyped Tim Burton film, right?

A Classic Fit is Included in Beetlejuice 2

During a new interview, Beetlejuice 2 costume designer Colleen Atwood recently spoke with ComicBook and teased that the film will include his iconic outfit from the first installment, telling the site, "Well, Beetlejuice has to have a striped suit. It's like doing Alice in Wonderland needs a blue dress. How long they wear it is another thing. But Beetlejuice that is the quintessential Beetlejuice. Strangely, it was Michael; he thinks the burgundy tux is the quintessential Beetlejuice, not the striped suit," she added with a laugh. "But the world happens to disagree with him, so it's a funny thing."

When discussing his career and the upcoming sequel, Burton recently admitted, "Honestly, I don't really know [how I obtained my success] because I am really not that good at talking or speaking or trying to sell something, so to speak. Looking back, it's a very, very strange journey that I can't quite explain. That's why it is hard for me to watch [my movies] afterward because I still feel the emotional whatever of it. I don't get a release from that. But I do enjoy all the people I've worked with. On this last one, Beetlejuice 2, I really enjoyed it. I tried to strip everything and go back to the basics of working with good people and actors and puppets. It was kind of like going back to why I liked making movies."

Beetlejuice 2 is set to be released in theaters on September 6, 2024, by Warner Bros. Pictures. However, a delayed release is always possible with the ongoing strike!
