Blumhouse Producer Teases M3GAN 2.0, FNAF 2, Dead By Daylight
We have a few updates on some big Blumhouse sequels, including M3GAN 2, Five Nights At Freddy's 2, and Dead By Daylight.
Article Summary
- Blumhouse's 'M3GAN 2.0' is progressing towards a January release date.
- 'Dead by Daylight' film adaptation is in creative development by Blumhouse.
- 'Five Nights at Freddy's 2' is yet to receive a green light from Blumhouse.
- 'Night Swim', 'Imaginary', and 'Wolf Man' set for Blumhouse's 2024 releases.
Blumhouse had a massive 2023 with hits like M3GAN, Insidious: The Red Door, and Five Nights At Freddy's. The last one became the biggest hit in their history. 2024 is going to be just as big. Next week, Night Swim is opening wide to kick off the year, followed by Imaginary in March and Wolf Man in October. There are three films in particular that fans have been salivating for news about, however. Those three are M3gan 2.0, the video game adaptation Dead By Daylight, and, of course, Five Nights At Freddy's 2. Producer Ryan Turek recently had a chat with Collider, where he gave an update on all three.
Maybe Blumhouse Should Cross All Three Over
It sounds like M3GAN is the closest to being in front of cameras: "M3GAN 2 is underway. We haven't started shooting or anything like that. We're aiming towards that January release date that was set."
Also, after the success of FNAF, they have a roadmap for these video game adaptations: "I will say that one of the projects that I'm active on is Dead by Daylight, which is the video game adaptation of a game that's been around for, like, seven years. I look at that as the celebration of horror that the video game itself is. What we've learned from Five Nights at Freddy's is, obviously, to steer towards the fans and make a video game adaptation for the fans. I'm a huge Dead by Daylight fan. That one I'm super excited about, and we're creatively mulling around what the way into it is."
And finally, as far as Five Nights At Freddy's 2 is concerned…there is no news from Blumhouse. It is not even confirmed yet: "That movie made so much money. It was a huge success, and we're grateful for that. Emma [Tammi] did such a great job, but we're still waiting for the green light on that. We'll see."
All three of those and The Black Phone 2 will be huge moneymakers for Blumhouse when released, so expect many more updates and news about them as they head into production in 2024.
