Chris Rock Wants J J Abrams To Save The Fantastic Four
During the Tribeca Film Festival on Friday, comedian Chris Rock sat down with director J.J. Abrams to talk everything from Felicity to The Force Awakens. But one of the more interesting questions wasn't really a quest, but rather a plea. With Abrams having recently done films both Star Trek and Star Wars, Rock decided to ask the director to save one of his favorite franchises, The Fantastic Four.
Can you direct the Fantastic Four?" Rock asked him. "Can someone save it? I love the Fantastic Four and they keep f—ing it up!
It's not stated in the EW story if Abrams had a response, but 20th Century Fox is going to have to make another FF movie in the somewhat near future to retain the rights and giving the property to someone like Abrams to fix may be their only hope in getting anyone excited about the team again film wise. Handing it to another 'hot' young director won't instill confidence in the movie going audience.
Fantastic Four fans, like Rock, can hope for something like this.
