Christopher Gorham, Voice of the Flash in Death of Superman, Takes No Inspiration from Live-Action Versions [SDCC]
Interview, Photos, and Words courtesy of Bleeding Cool's Jimmy Leszczynski:
WB Animation is going back to the well one more time with the industry-changing story that taught us that super heroes never really die. The Death of Superman features an updated retelling of Big Blue getting (spoilers) beat to death by a then-unknown, scrappy baddie called Doomsday. The basics of the story are still the same (unstoppable force meets immovable object), and all the emotional elements in check, but now with a fresh coat of "New 52" paint.
Right before the fastest voice actor alive sped off to the world premiere of The Death of Superman at SDCC 2018, we convinced Christopher to stop for a second and chat about how much he likes playing the Flash.
Even though this is his fifth time behind the mask of the Scarlet Speedster, Christopher tells us it takes a minute to step back into the character since there is sometime a long break between projects. Christopher discusses how he takes no inspiration from live-action versions of the Flash, talks about the tonal separation between his Flash and Grant Gustin's, and tells us what Superman represents to the world we live in today.
The Death of Superman stars Jerry O'Connell (Crossing Jordan, Stand By Me) as Superman, Rebecca Romijn (X-Men, The Librarians) as Lois Lane, Jason O'Mara (The Man in High Castle, Terra Nova) as Batman, Christopher Gorham (Covert Affairs, Ugly Betty) as The Flash, and Toks Olagundoye (Castle) as Cat Grant.
The Death of Superman is available for digital download on iTunes Saturday, July 21st, everywhere else Tuesday, July 24th, and Blu-ray on August 8th.
