Fox To Crossover Music Dramas Empire And Star In Fall Premieres
Everyone wants a connected universe and now Fox is adding one to their line-up as they move their two Lee Daniels' music dramas to airing back-to-back this fall. But it's more than just Empire and Star are going to air the same night, the network has announced a special two-episode crossover event this fall. The crossover will have Star's Carlotta (Queen Latifah) meet Empire's Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) in both shows season premieres.
The crossover is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 27th at 8 p.m. with Empire's season four premiere.
On the brink of Empire Entertainment's 20th anniversary, Lucious is set to make his first public appearance after the explosion in Las Vegas, while all members of the Lyon family, as well as Lucious' nurse, Claudia (Demi Moore), have their own interests in Lucious regaining his physical and mental faculties.
While the second season premiere of Star, will air at 9 p.m.
The Big Trouble girls – along with their manager Carlotta – continue to face roadblocks, despite their victory at Atlanta NextFest.
Though the two series haven't officially crossed over, Fox aired a sneak peak of Star's first episode the night of Empire's midseason finale and show Lucious meeting with Roland Crane (Lenny Kravit's) from Star to talk about his daughter. Star premiered in Empire's spot during the winter hiatus, now the two shows will be airing back-to-back.
